Windows Server 2008 R2 introduced a new functionality of Core Parking which enables improved power management by suspending OS cores which are not in use.

Active Directory Administrative Center

Server 2008 R2 was launched with a new active directory administrative center with a great feature named as new Active directory Recycle Bin. This Active Directory is built on PowerShell so it's all actions are scriptable.
